What is dolmen de soto?

Dolmen de Soto is a megalithic monument located in Trigueros, Spain. It is one of the largest and most famous dolmens in the Iberian Peninsula and is believed to have been built during the Neolithic period, around 3000 BC.

The dolmen consists of a large chamber made of large stones, covered by a massive capstone that weighs over 180 tons. The entrance to the chamber is oriented towards the east, which suggests that it may have had some astronomical or religious significance.

It is thought that the dolmen was used for burial purposes, as human remains and funerary offerings have been found inside the chamber. The site has also yielded a number of artifacts, such as pottery, stone tools, and beads, which provide insights into the culture and beliefs of the people who built the monument.

Dolmen de Soto is a popular tourist attraction and is protected as a cultural heritage site. It is also considered an important archaeological site for understanding the prehistoric past of the Iberian Peninsula.
